Safety

Stay safe on the Heeps

Putting yourself out there takes courage. Here’s how to protect yourself — and look out for each other.

Your built-in protections

• Avatar-first: your AI avatar represents you until you choose to share photos.
• Invisible mode: browse profiles without showing up in their viewers list.
• Block & report: one tap on any profile or conversation. We review every report.
• Photo unlock: you decide who sees your photos, and when.

Meeting in real life

• Meet in a public place, tell a friend where you’ll be, and arrange your own transportation.
• Video chat before meeting. Trust your instincts — it’s always okay to cancel or leave.
• Keep early conversations on the Heeps rather than moving to text or other apps right away.

Guard your privacy

• Don’t share your full name, home address, workplace, or financial details with someone you just met.
• Remember screenshots exist — share photos thoughtfully.
• Your status is yours to disclose on your timeline, or never. Nobody here gets to demand it from you.

Talking about herpes

• There’s no single “right” script. Honest, calm, and brief works well: the basic facts, how you manage it, and what it means practically.
• Rejection stings, but it isn’t a verdict on your worth. The right people won’t flinch.
• Never use someone’s disclosure against them — doing so gets you permanently banned.

Spot the scammers

• Anyone asking for money, gift cards, crypto, or “help with a bill” is a scammer. Every time.
• Sob stories combined with urgent money requests: report and block.
• We’ll never ask for your password or payment information in messages.

If something goes wrong

• Block and report in the app right away — don’t wait.
• If you’re in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services.
• Be kind to yourself. You deserve the same compassion here that you show others.

Know your status

Most of us already know our HSV status — but a full picture matters too. Our partner Ulta Lab Tests offers confidential lab testing, including full STD panels and HIV screening, ordered online with no doctor visit required.
